PETA awards Naveen as “Hero to Animals “

The Chief Minister of Odisha Navin Pattanaik has been awarded by People for Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), India Hero to Animals Award for his compassionate act towards animals during COVID lock down and shutdown period.

During lockdown and shutdown period, Chief Minister directed for provision of food for the stray animals in the State, especially in Urban areas, from time to time through allocation of fund from Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. CM had allocated Rs 54 lakhs from a relief fund to feed animals in five municipal corporations and all 48 municipalities of Odisha during the COVID-19 lockdown .

CM Sri Patanaik has received a framed certificate and a letter of appreciation from PETA India. Previous recipients of our Hero to Animals Award include Shilpa Shetty Kundra; Delhi Minister of Food and Civil Supplies, Environment & Forests and Elections Imran Hussain,  Zareen Khan Cyrus Broacha , Rani Mukerji , Imran Khan and others .
