SOLARI RAILWAY STATION UPGRADED FROM ELECTROMECHANICAL STATION MASTER SLIDE SYSTEM TO PANEL INTERLOCKING SYSYTEM.
Bhubaneswar(Kalinga Voice): Turning the suspension of Passenger train services as an opportunity, East Coast Railway has emphasized its workforce on the execution of many infrastructural developmental/Safety related modernizations works and maintenance works.
One more infrastructural development has been done by the Signal & Telecom (S&T) Department by upgrading the Electromechanical Station Master (SM) slide system at Solari Railway station in Khurda Road Division to Panel interlocking system with operating cum Indication panel. This system makes the operational procedure more reliable, quick, easy, and safe with less maintenance of gears.
Features of Panel Interlocking system:
- In Station Master’s Slide system there are so many wear and tears, so it needs regular maintenance, but in the Panel Interlocking system wear and tears are negligible so needs less maintenance.
- In the old system, there is a separate Indication panel, but in Panel interlocking system, indication has been provided in the operating panel itself.
- The new system operates a Signal system faster than the old one and easy to monitor.
- It is safer than the old system and user friendly during Train operation.
