Sports and Youth Services Department felicitated Kamal Kant with a sum of rupees one lakh

Kamal Kant set a new record by traveling 213 km in 24 hours in a wheelchair

Bhubaneswar(Kalinga voice) : Para athlete Kamal Kant Nayak felicitated with a sum of Rs 1 lakh by the Sports and Youth Services Department today. Sports and Youth Services Department Commissioner-cum-Secretary R. Vineel Krishna today felicitated Kamal Kant on the premises of Kalinga Hockey Stadium. Through his dedication, concentration and hard work, Kamal Kant set a new record around the world and set an example for all athletes and youth.

“The Department of Sports and Youth Services to provide all necessary assistance to Kamal Kant to participate in the Paralympics”, the Secretary said.

Kamal Kant Nayak, 28, set a new record by traveling 213 km in 24 hours in a wheelchair. The function was attended by Joint Secretary Sports and YS Deptt. Bijayananda Nayak,  Sailendra Jena and  Chairperson of the Better Life Foundation Sri Durga Prasad Pattnaik and other departmental officials.
