Puri/ Kalinga Voice: Deputy Chairman State Planning Board, Odisha Sanjay Kumar Das Verma discussed the Flood situation of Puri district in Circuit House conference hall today at 9.30 am . Instructed vulnerable points of embankment should be closely monitored. Daya , Bharagavi, Makara, Luna, Ratnachira, rivers, is expected to receive 5 lakh cusecs of water from the Mahanadi system and will be discharged to chilika system by these rivers. Sri Das Verma expected a.medium scale flood will hit Puri district. Necessary arrangements like deployment of NDRF, ODRAF, Medical facilities, the supply of safe drinking water to the affected people should be in readiness. District administration should also ready for relief and restoration. Revenue authorities r instructed just after flood to assess crop loss in time.
The meeting was attended by Collector Puri Sri Balwant singh, Adm general Pradeep Kumar Sahu, Adm revenue Subsh Nath Sharma, Sub Collector Puri Bhabartana Sahu, Supdt Engineer central circle Chinmay Rout, EE drainage Bhagban Chandra das. Collector Puri expressed that a meeting was taken with all BDOs,tahasildars and IiCs yesterday through Video conference and he stated that the administration is prepared to face any type of eventualities.
