Union Minister Dharmendra pradhan’s silence on Central Government’s neglect of Padampur has saddened the people of Padampur : Dr. Sasmit Patra
Bhubaneswar: “CM Shri. Naveen Patnaik is the tallest leader of Odisha. People of Odisha will not like and tolerate any attack on him. You learnt it the hard way in 2018 Bijepur by-poll when a BJP person threw chappals at CM. The people of Bijepur did not like it and made BJD victorious with a very high margin. You are again attacking him today with words; the people of Padampur will not like it and give befitting reply. Please maintain dignity and respect atleast when you are speaking about CM.” Biju Janata Dal’s Rajya Sabha MP and National Spokesperson Dr. Sasmit Patra said in a press meet referring to the statements made by Union Minister Shri. Dharmendra Pradhan today in an election rally in Padampur said.
“It seems you are disturbed and scared after seeing the massive response to CM’s rallies yesterday in Padampur. You have already seen the writing on the wall that the BJP is headed for a massive defeat. Please accept this fact.” said Shri Patra .
“Your leaders have been publicly humiliating, insulting, denigrating and using derogatory language against an Odia, tribal woman who has lost her father recently Smt. Barsha Singh Bariha, who is the BJD candidate in Padampur by-poll. BJP should forget politics and at least have some decency and dignity for an Odia tribal woman who is fighting an election, irrespective of the Party lines.
You don’t pull up your leaders for denigrating and insulting a woman and womanhood. You don’t speak in this regard. All of us have daughters and sisters. Should we allow such humiliation to them in public? Why are you silent on this?” asked Sri Patra.
Dr. Patra further said , “Odisha’s Finance Minister has repeatedly opposed 18% GST on Kendu Leaf in GST council. Our Hon’ble CM has personally written letters and opposed 18% GST on Kendu Leaf to Centre. You are a Union Minister and your MLA candidate says he is a Kendu Leaf plucker’s leader. Have you or your candidate ever met the Union Finance of Finance regarding GST on Kendu Leaf and asked her to withdraw it? Why are you lying to the people of Padampur?
The Railways Ministry is in Odisha or Centre. I think you are confused. The mandate for new railway line lies with Railways which is with Centre. Out of generosity the Odisha Government has given land free and 300 crores for the Padampur railway line. This shows the commitment of the Odisha Government to the people of Odisha and the importance it attaches to railways. If you want Odisha to undertake its own railways, don’t take the 30,000 Crores that Odisha gives to railways. Let us keep our money; we will build our railways with our money. We won’t bother you.”
“On the matters of district formation of Padampur and NAC formation of Paikamal, you should have had the magnanimity to welcome these major initiatives by CM. You should have had the minimum decency and dignity towards the announcements by CM for the welfare of the people of Padampur and Paikamal but you denigrated it. This shows your political motive.
It seems that after 2019 elections, you haven’t been to Bijepur. If you had been to Bijepur then you would have known about the huge development that has taken place in Bijepur. However, we will invite you as Union Minister in December, 2023 to be present for the inauguration of the Gangadhar Meher Mega Lift Irrigation project to witness the massive transformations taking place in Bijepur. Please note the month and year. We look forward to seeing you at the inauguration.
Odisha is the first state and CM the first CM of Odisha who has regularized contractual employees. BJP CM’s are calling Odisha Government and asking how you did it? You are a Union Minister. The schemes under your Ministry are allrun by contractual employees. Why haven’t you been able to regularize those contractual posts? When Hon’ble CM is doing good for people, out of jealousy you are criticizing. Why? Why not have the magnanimity to welcome the good being done by CM?” asked Dr Patra .
He further added ” Centre awarded Odisha for being the best performing state in rural housing and then BJP stopped rural housing for Odisha? Why? Why did you stop the poor man’s houses? You do not give an answer to that.
Why the Fasal Bima of the farmers of Padampur was not given by Centre, you don’t answer. When your BJP candidate for Padampur by-poll was stopped by farmers from filing his nomination and constant pressure from Government of Odisha by Hon’ble CM, within 48 hours you got FasalBima released after you faced the farmer’s ire. Please reply to these uncomfortable questions.
People of Padampur were expecting that you would take action against the BJP leaders who have been publicly humiliating, insulting, denigrating and using derogatory language against an Odia, tribal woman who has lost her father recently Smt. Barsha Singh Bariha. But you didn’t do that.
People of Padampur were expecting that you would welcome and support the PadampurDistrict formation and Paikamal NAC formation assurance of Hon’ble CM for Padampur, you didn’t do it. They thought you would support their demand for removal of 18% GST on Kendu Leaf, new Padampur Railway line, FasalBima payment, rural housing among many other issues. You didn’t do it. The people of Padampur are sad with you and the BJP due to this and will give a befitting reply to the BJP on 5th December, 2022 polling day of the Padampur by-poll” said Dr. Sasmit Patra.
