Aditya Aluminium launches Project Sinchai

Bhubaneswar :Aditya Aluminium Lapanga Hindalco Industries Ltd is acting as catalyst for community bridging gap between community and Government in different Key parameter indicators from Health Education to Livelihood under its Corporate Social Responsibility. 

Aditya Aluminium Launched Project Sinchaiyesterday in partnership with Horticulture department and Farmers in a Public Private Partnership model under Pradhan Mantri KrishakSinchai Yojana. Under the project a feasibility study was done and 55 farmers have been mobilised to adopt the Sprinkler Irrigation System. The farmers are from 5 Gram Panchayat. Each sprinkler has 9 nozzle and can be used as per water pressure. More than 70acres of land will be irrigated through sprinkler system. The envisaged benefits are increase in crop intensification, increase productivity, reduce water wastage, increase in per capita income and unlike drop it is Hassel-free installation. Farmers have contributed 10-15% and equal ratio has been Company’s contribution in the project. Besides financial contribution of approx. INR 4 lakhs in a project cost of INR 16.57lakhs. Aditya CSR is playing critical role in mobilising the farmers, sensitization on scheme, document collection, liasioning with Government and vendor, ensuring Farmer’s contribution. Government contribution is 70-80% based on ST SC OBC category farmer under the scheme. 

The launch event was organised today at Golamal village in Katarbagga gram panchayat. More than 50 farmers attended the launch event at Golamal. All the guests were given traditional welcome by villagers.The event was graced by Shri K C Dalpat Block Development Officer Rengali as Chief Guest. Other eminent guests were Shri Byomokesh Mishra block Agriculture Officer Rengali from Agricultural Department, MsMousami Horticulture Officer Rengali from Horticulture department along with Mr. Rajendra Bhoi. Shri Stephen Arokiaraj Head ER,Ms Sweta Upadhayay Head CSR Mr Manoranjan Behera Manager CSR participated in the launch ceremony. CSR team has been instrumental in bringing development projects on ground. 

The guests spoke on various government schemes available and explained how Farmers can avail these schemes also encouraging farmers to reach out to government officials as each department has only 1-2 manpower for 16 gram panchayats. The BDO said that farmers need to diversify crop for profit. It was an interactive session where farmers also voiced their concern on marketing produce and lack of cold storage where BAO and BDO assured that schemes are available and will be extended to Golamal. Farmers expressed their happiness about the Sinchai Project and look forward to continued support from Government and Aditya Aluminium Lapanga. Aditya will continue to scale the reach of the project after witnessing the positive impact of the intervention.
