Bhubaneswar(Kalinga Voice) : Keeping pace with Chief Minister’s commitment to leave No One Behind (LNOB),Planning and Convergence Department, Government of Odisha,partnering with UNICEF, Odisha has set upan IEC stall on Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) in the Adivasi Mela at Adivasi ExhibitionGround in Unit-1. Bhubaneswar.IEC Kiosk in Adivasi Melawas kickstarted in the presence of Shri R Balakrishnan, Hon’ble Adviser to CM, Shri Pradeep Jena,Development Commissioner-cum-ACS, Smt Roopa Roshan Sahu,Commissioner-cum- Secretary, ST/SC Development Department, Shri Manish Agarwal,Additional Secretary to Government and other dignitaries.IEC Kiosk in Adivasi Melais part of a series of initiatives that the State SDG Cell has planned to take the SDG Agenda 2030 to the common people.The SDG IEC kiosk is set up in collaboration with UNICEFand will be active from 20th February 20, 2023to 1st March 2023.
The overarching theme of the SDG IEC stall in Adivasi Melais the localization of SDGs, focusingon SDGs in Everyday life and aims at focusing on the Government of Odisha’scommitment to leave no one behind, as we march together through our state flagship schematic efforts.
The SDG IEC kiosksare among the key steps from the P&C Department to generate awareness and create a buzz among people who will visit the Mela.The initiative began this year during Sisir Saras Mela and the SDG Cell, P&C Department, received a positive response from the public visiting the Mela&received the Best IEC Activity in Sisir Saras 2023 Award.
Various communication materials like leaflets, bookmarks, wristbands, stickers etc on SGDsare on display in the SDG IEC Stall in the Adivasi Mela. Young volunteers from Sattvic Soul are educating the visitors on localization of SDGs. Small takeaways on SDGs are designed along with Signature Wall and Idea Wallin the SDG IEC kiosk. Aselfie standwith SDG branding is also put up for clicking selfies and spreading the word on social media.
