Berhampur: Housing & Urban Development department organised a Cluster Review Meeting of ULBs of Ganjam, Rayagada, Boudh, Gajapati & Kndhamal district at KMCG Auditorium today. Principal Secretary , H & U.D Deptt, G Mathi Vathanan chaired the meeting. Around 450 participants including PD, DUDA, Addl. Commissioners, Executive Officers, Engineers and professionals of all the local bodies of the 5 districts attended. Vision for coming years was presented review made on performance of ULBs .
. Principal Secretary Sri Mathi Vathanan in his address to the house focused on URBAN Initiative Vision 2023-24 and highlighted different programme such as Jalasathi, MUKTA, Work Office, Solid & Liquid Waste Management, FSSM, Jaga Mission, Drink form Tap , GARIMA , Fund Management, Water body Rejuvenation etc being implemented by the Government. During the presentation he told urbanization is the engine of growth. More Urbanization more development and more challenge too, He directed to functionalise the Work office by Dec -23 . Liveable city where basic facilities like Tap Water, Toilet, Walking Track, Vending Zone & Cremation Ground etc must be part of urban infrastructure he advised. Further he emphasised on Drink form Tap which mainly focus on 100% house hold connection . Community participation play a key role and it has been recognised globally. He also directed to ensure all payments to MSG should be done by 7th of every month.
