WOMEN NEED TO ASSERT THEMSELVES: MANEKA GANDHI

Bhubaneswar,(Kalinga Voice) : Brushing aside the age-old thinking that they were victims of society’s prejudices, women should assert themselves and inspire others to chart a new course for their ilk, Member of Parliament, Ms. Maneka Gandhi has said.
            “Women should always inspire, motivate and encourage other women. They must stop thinking of themselves as victims,” she said while addressing a virtual women’s leadership summit organized by the SOA Deemed to be University in collaboration with ObserveNow Media recently.
            Ms. Gandhi, a former union minister, said women were very creative and their ability at multi-tasking was amazing.
            A large group of women HR leaders were honoured on the occasion for their significant contribution in the field of HR. The session was attended by female faculty members and students of the university.
            Addressing the gathering, SOA’s Dean (Research and Development), Prof. P.K.Nanda highlighted the achievements of the university.  He said around 12,000 students studied at the university which had 1243 faculty members engaged in academics and research activities. SOA, he pointed out, was a woman-centric university where 47 percent of students were women who pursued their studies in different disciplines. Besides, women constituted 35 per cent of the faculty who were engaged in academic and research activities. SOA’s focus was on enabling women to have greater participation in all fields of society, he said.
            The HR leaders honored on the occasion included Ms. Vishpala Ready, Head (HR), Philips, Ms. Shraddhanjali Rao, CHRO, SAP India, Ms. Ruchira Bharadwaj, CHRO, Future Generali, Ms. Rishu Garg, Vice-President and Head HR, G4S, Ms. Reetu Raina, CHRO, Quick Heal, Ms. Rajita Singh, Head HR, Broadridge, Ms. Ankita Sinha, Senior Vice-President, HR, Cignex, Ms. Saswati Sinha, Head HR, CHEIL, Ms. Swati Shukla, Director HR, Netflix, Dr. Reema Chowdhury, CHRO, Datamatics, Ms. Deepa Chadha, VHRO, Air Vistara, Ms. Puja Kapoor, Head HR, Olx and Ms. Sunita Rath, Chief People Officer, Aegon Life.
