Will confiscate their properties in J&K
New Delhi : Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the efforts of Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah, the Indian government has resolved to seize all the properties belonging to militants hailing from Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) who have sought sanctuary in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
Scores of militants, native to the volatile region of J&K, have sought refuge within PoK for an extended duration. This decision heralds the commencement of the property confiscation initiative, spearheaded by the Modi administration.
In this regard, a proclamation was issued by the J&K Police, underscoring its unwavering commitment to take decisive action against all terrorists who have sought refuge in Pakistan. The assets of those local insurgents, who originate from J&K and have relocated to PoKin a bid to evade arrest, will be subject to forfeiture.
The J&K Police have meticulously compiled a comprehensive roster of terrorists who were once active across various sectors in the region but subsequently sought shelter within PoK. This comprehensive list encompasses more than 4,200 militants who have resided in PoK since 1990.
Back in 1990, a multitude of youths traversed the Line of Control and ventured into PoK, and they are now poised to engage in terrorist activities within Jammu and Kashmir once more. The assets belonging to such insurgents are currently undergoing confiscation, and this process will persist.
Under the purview of Shah, who is dedicated to establishing a terrorism-free India, vigilant surveillance is being maintained over these insurgents who perpetuate terrorism from their positions beyond the Line of Control (LOC).
The Modi administration has unequivocally affirmed that any attempts by these terrorists to re-enter Indian territory will be met with lethal consequences. A group of 9 to 12 foreign terrorists, who were making their way from the Kulgam-Shopian districts of the valley toward the Rajouri-Poonch districts of the Jammu division, has already encountered the fatal repercussions of this resolve, with three of them meeting their demise, while the search for the remaining culprits continues.
In line with Shah’s foresight, extensive preparations to combat narcotics trafficking are currently underway. Shah staunchly contends that narcotics trafficking, and the ensuing illicit proceeds, sustains the terrorist agenda.
Consequently, the simultaneous targeting of terrorism and the narcotics trade is deemed imperative. The act of expropriating the assets of the native inhabitants of Jammu and Kashmir, who impede the nation’s peace and advancement through their involvement in terrorist undertakings, marks an innovative stride in the construction of a rejuvenated India.
