Bhubaneswar : In another big step towards establishment of world class cancer care facilities in Odisha, State Government today has accorded in principle financial support approval for establishment of Dharmasala-cum-Guest house, and Paediatric cancer care center in Homi Bhaba Cancer Hospital and Research Centre ( HBCHRC)at Jatani.
Informing the Director Tata Memorial Centre ( TMC) about the sanction,SecretaryHealth and Family Welfare Smt Shalini Pandit said that State Govt would extend financial support of around Rs. 120 cr for construction of 2 blocks of Dharmasala-cum-Guest house of about 2 lakh square feet in the premises of HBCHRC, Jatani.
In addition to that State would also fund around Rs. 150 cr for establishment of a State of the art paediatric cancer facility including the building and instruments costs in the hospital. The amount for paediatric cancer facility would be placed with TMC, Mumbai for timely completion of the constriction, and delivery of services to the people.
People of the locality, and intelligentsia of the State while welcoming such decision of Govt have expressed satisfaction over this timely action of the Government on the face of rising paediatric cancer cases throughout the country.
