Dalmia Bharat Foundation in collaboration with the NHM Organizes TB Awareness Camp in Jajpur

Bhubaneswar,10thNovember, 2023:Dalmia Bharat Foundation(DBF),the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arm of Dalmia Bharat Ltd. (DBL) in partnership with the National Health Missionorganized a Tuberculosis (TB) screening and awareness camp for communities around its Dalmia Cement- Kapilas Cement Works (KCW)manufacturing unitlocated inCuttack.Tuberculosis is a highly infectious disease and represents a substantial public health concern in India, constituting a quarter of the globalcases. During the camp, health essential screening and consultation services were provided for 350 people at BagahuJhatia, Byree in Jajpur.The primary focus of the camp was to identify and screen individuals for suspected Tuberculosis cases.

A total of 55 sputum samples were collected, marking a critical step in early detection and intervention.The event witnessed enthusiastic participation of local Sarpanch, Panchayat Samiti Members from Byree, CHO-Barchana, Senior Treatment Supervisor, ANM worker, ASHA workers, Anganwadi Workers, Village Leaders along with representatives from Dalmia Bharat Foundation.

Commenting on the initiative, Mr. Bhavesh Wala, Deputy Executive Directorand Plant Head, KCW said,“At Dalmia Bharat, we are deeply committed to inclusive development and the health and well-being of the communities we operate in. In rural areas, people struggle to get the healthcare they need due to lack of resources and information. We hope through this medical camp we have enabled many to understand the impacts of the TB disease and encouraged them to seek medical attention in time. We are thankful to National Health Mission for this collaboration and making this health camp successful. A healthy society is the foundation for a thriving nation and we are dedicated to building a stronger, healthier future for all.”

Dalmia Bharat Foundation has been at the forefront of social welfare and community development leading various well-being initiatives in the region.This includes extensive medical drives like their Mobile Medical Unit(MMU) service, which covers an average of 1700 patients every month, providing accessible healthcare resources and services to the communities in need.
