Bhubaneswar, Nov. 27: Students pursuing legal studies at Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan Deemed to be University (SOA) here celebrated the Constitution Day on Sunday by performing a small act at a crowded mall in the city portraying the principles of equality, brotherhood and secularism.
The students, studying at the SOA National Institute of Law (SNIL), faculty of legal studies of SOA, took the initiative to raise public awareness about the constitution, its making and rights and duties of the people.
The event began with the recitation of the preamble of the Constitution in English and Hindi providing a poignant reminder of the guiding principles of the nation.
The participants in the event also creatively narrated through a poem the importance of the constitutional rights, duties and the vision of the Directive Principles of State Policy which made India a welfare state.
As part of the vibrant event, the students had a dialogue with school children and involved people in general in the program to spread awareness about the Constitution. “This shows how educational institutions can actively contribute towards dissemination of knowledge crucial to every citizen,” an Associate Professor of SNIL said.
