BSKY Smart Card saves like Angel: Advanced High-tech operation done in Vishakhapatnam

Bhubaneswar, 4 March: Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana ( BSKY) is no more a mere Govt scheme. It has turned saviour of the poor and helpless in the empanelled hospitals both inside and outside Odisha. People from remote corners of western Odisha are now accessing high-tech super specialty treatment of the complicated diseases.
The case of Prabhat Kumar Rout aged about 48 years from Ward-7 of Bolangir municipality is but one instance among many. Sri Rout suffered from severe problems like deposit of water in stomach, chest, and breathlessness etc. Well-wishers advised him to take treatment in Medicover hospital of Vishakhapatnam. He used to earn livelihood of his family from a small grocery shop, and was unable to afford for high end clinical care.
At this evil hour of life, he heard from his neighbours that cashless treatment in Medicover hospital at Vishakhapatnam could be done under BSKY smart card. Sri Rout accompanied by his wife Sarmistha went to the hospital and got admitted there on 8 Feb of the current year.
After due procedural treatment in gastroenterology dept he was transferred to interventional neurological dept wherein Dr Sibashankar Dalei did the operation through trans-jugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt (TIPS) method. After due post-operational care and check-up he was discharged from hospital on 29 Feb.
His wife Sarmistha said, “After operation my husband is now getting well. He is able to eat, talk, and do his daily work. We are grateful to Chief Minister Sri Naveen Patnaik for BSKY smart card, and doctors of Medicover hospital for their super speciality treatment.
The treating physician of Medicover hospital Dr Dalei said, “The patient came to us at an advanced stage of liver cirrhosis. We have operated him through very advanced high-tech procedure called TIPS. His recovery process is quite good. I hope, he will be all normal shortly. We also thank Odisha Govt for BSKY smart card system through which many poor people of Odisha are getting advanced treatment at appropriate time in best hospitals”.
