Rourkela/ Kalinga Voice : The Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT), Rourkela hosted a Curriculum Conclave on 9th April 2024 bringing together esteemed guests, dignitaries, and industry leaders for a day of insightful discussions and presentations.The session started with the inaugural function in the presence of the august audience.
The Vice-Chancellor of Sambalpur University, Prof. Bidhu Bhusan Mishra graced the occasion as Chief Guest and shared his valuable inputs for enrichment of the curriculum of Management Studies in the present scenario and emphasized on experiential learning.
The Vice-Chancellor of BPUT, Prof. Amiya Kumar Rath during his speech emphasized on experiential and case study-based learning system. Prof. Rath also said that the Curriculum Conclave was a resounding success, providing a platform for meaningful dialogue, knowledge sharing, and collaboration among academia, industry, and policymakers. He also added, the event served as a testament to BPUT’s commitment to fostering excellence in education and preparing students for the challenges of the future.
The esteemed academicians, Prof. Niharika Vhora, IIM, Ahmadabad and Prof. Sushanta Kumar Mishra, IIM, Bangalore enlightened the session with their presentations which added perspectives related to restructuring of the Management course curriculum.
The delegates from the Digital Skilling partners like Coursera and representative from IBM Skills Build presented about their course offerings to upskill the students. The eminent industry delegates, Mr. Bala Thiagarajan, Vice President, Capgemini, Dr. Lavanam Amballa, former Deputy Director- Talent Acquisition, Wipro, Mr. Abhijit Pati, former CEO, Vedanta Ltd. and Mr. R. K. Singh, Vice President (HR), TRL Krosaki delivered their talks providing valuable& insightful inputs with regards to restructuring of the course curriculum of Management studies.
The experts from the affiliated colleges of BPUT, Er. Saroj Kumar Sahoo, Chairman, SAM, Dr. Arya Patnaik, Secretary, RIMS, Prof. Mihir Ranjan Nayak, Principal, BIITM, Prof. S. R. Mohapatra, Dean Management, BPUT, and Prof. Sharmila Subhramanian, Principal, ASM added their perceptive views in order to revamp the curriculum of the Management studies.Dr. R. N. Sahu, Principal, CIME coordinated the panel discussion on Curriculum development of Management studies which was steered by the eminent academicians and industry leaders.
Among others, Smt. Nishi Poonam Minz, Registrar, BPUT, Smt. Sevati Dandsena, Finance Officer, BPUT, Prof. Sujit Kumar Khuntia, Director-Curriculum Development, BPUT, Dr. Sujit Kumar Dash, Director-P&IT, BPUT, Dr. Suvendu Kumar Rath, Deputy Registrar, BPUT and other officials of the university participated in the conclave.
