IB Thermal: A general meeting of the members of OPGC Executives’ Association(OEA) was held in here today in the Chairmanship of OEA President Balakrushna Mishra where executives of OPGC joined in large numbers to discuss their issues and future course of action.
The meeting commenced at 7.30PM at the officer’s club in the premises of IB Thermal Power Station Colony. At the outset, General Secretary of the Association Jatindra Sahu welcomed the members. In his opening address, President of the Association Balakrushna Mishra welcomed the newly joined members and said that being the biggest association of OPGC employees in terms of numbers, we should stay united for our common goal which is growth of the organization and benefit of all employees. General Secretary Jatindra Sahu invited the newly joined members to come forward and introduce themselves. After the introduction session,President Mr. Mishra urged the members of the Association to raise issues faced by them so that the most common issues can be put before the OPGC management for early solution.
Many executives expressed that Association has been raising a number of issues faced by them relentlessly, but the OPGC management is not paying heed. One by one, many executives voiced their resentment and reiterated the long pending demands such as
- Removal of Salary capping in MBS cadre which was enforced in the past without any justified reason.
- Implementation of pension scheme for OPGC MBS executives as a social security.
- Provision of term insurance for OPGC employees as a social security.
- Variable Pay to be merged with CTC and disbursed on timely basis
- CPC interviews to be held timely and promotions to be given on timely basis to all eligible employees to avoid scope for manipulation or favoritism.
- Extension of vehicle loan, children education loan facility for MBS employees
- Development of Hospital infrastructure with deployment of better doctors & medical staff.
- Development of School infrastructure with deployment of better teachers & staff.
These apart, many members citing the recent cases ofuntoward incidences and theft in the colony premises, expressed their concern for the security of employees & their family members. OPGC management must take visible steps to make the colony a secured place but so far nothing has been done, they opined. In one voice, majority of members agreed that the above-mentioned demands be put before the management once again for early solution, failing whichOPGC may lose competent employees who are playing major role in growth of the organization.
Amongst others,Joint Secretaries Rudra Jena, Md. Sahid Khan, Executive body members Atanu Jena, Bhagbat Majhi, Sandeep Parida & Sarthak Patnaik coordinated the meeting. At the end organizing secretary Mr. Ranjay Kumar gave vote of thanks.
