Dy CM Pravati Parida Visits Mission Shakti Bazaar, Applauds Women Artisans

Bhubaneswar : Deputy Chief Minister Smt. Pravati Parida paid a visit to the marquee product outlet Mission Shakti Bazaar inside the SIRD campus in Bhubaneswar. During her visit, she commended the exceptional quality
of handmade products crafted by Mission Shakti artisans and emphasised the importance of similar outlets across various regions of the state in increasing the marketability.
The Mission Shakti Bazaar, a showcase of Odisha’s rich tradition of handicrafts, handlooms and other indigenous products serves as a platform for women Self-Help Groups under Mission Shakti to exhibit and sell their products. The Deputy Chief Minister’s visit underscored the state government’s commitment in promoting the economic empowerment of women through such initiatives.
Expressing her admiration for the exquisite craftsmanship displayed at the bazaar, Smt. Parida highlighted the role of Mission Shakti in transforming the lives of thousands of women in Odisha. The Deputy Chief Minister also took a moment to stop at Koraput Coffee outlet where she had a cup of coffee and engaged in a thoughtful discussion on the local economy, the role of women in sustainable development and potentialities for further initiatives to support artisans across the state.
The visit of the Deputy Chief Minister not only acknowledges the invaluable contributions of the Mission Shakti artisans but also reaffirms government’s dedication for supporting and nurturing their skills. By creating more platforms like the Mission Shakti Bazaar, the government aims to enhance the visibility and market outreach of these artisans thereby providing them with greater economic opportunities.
Smt. Shalini Pandit, IAS, Commissioner-cum Secretary, Shri Vineet Bhardwaj, IAS, State Mission Director cum CEO, Odisha Livelihoods Mission (OLM), Smt. Sumitra Pattanaik, OAS, Additional Secretary to Government of Odisha, Senior government officials and employees of the department, members of Khordha Matrushakti Farmers Producer Company and members of Kalgudi (TSA) were present during this visit.
