Bhubaneswar : Masai School, a platform that builds a bridge connecting skills with opportunities, has succeeded in accomplishing the dreams of more than 5000 students across India. Working as an outcome-driven career institute, it has trained more than 100 batches and scaled up over the years with 6,000 current enrolments. Completing five years this month, the organisation has ensured to fulfil its sole goal of unlocking the human potential of India by making the education system outcome-driven.
Sumanta Kumar Malik, raised in a modest family in Balasore, Odisha had faced significant financial constraints throughout his early life. He had a strong drive to pursue a career in technology that never collapsed, even in the face of limited resources and assistance. Ultimately, due to financial constraints, he decided against pursuing his interest in technology in favour of earning a B.Sc. from Utkal University.
Sumanta’s career took a crucial turn when he moved to Bengaluru in search of better opportunities. While he was finding it difficult to find tech jobs, he discovered Masai School, that offered him the chance to become job ready through the school’s practical, hands-on program. Sumanta who was initially doubtful found inspiration in Masai’s co-founder and committed himself to the rigorous curriculum. With the guidance and mentorship of Prateek and Nrupul, he overcame significant challenges developing his coding skills and building his confidence.
Today, Sumanta is an SDE-2 at LegalZoom, where his career has undergone a remarkable transformation. He plans to continue his professional growth and explore further education opportunities, potentially pursuing a master’s degree while leveraging the ongoing learning support provided by Masai. Sidhant Kumar’s journey began in Bhubaneshwar, Odisha, where his passion for programming was evident from a young age. He was motivated by a desire to honour his late father’s legacy, Sidhant pursued a B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering. After a brief stint at Cognizant, he found himself back in his hometown struggling to find direction in his career. The pandemic further complicated his plans as he juggled various jobs and considered government exams without finding a clear path forward.
Everything changed when Sidhant discovered Masai School. Drawn by its innovative pay-after-placement model, he saw it as the solution to his career gap. Despite the demands of a night shift job at Amazon, Sidhant enrolled at Masai balancing both commitments with determination and hard work. The result? Sidhant not only excelled in the program but also improved his technical and communication skills significantly.
Post graduation, Sidhant secured a position as a software developer at GlobalLogic, marking a major milestone in his career. His achievements have made his family proud, and he continues to push himself to new heights in the tech world. He says “Masai was the turning point for me. It gave me the skills I needed and the confidence to step back into the tech industry with a clear vision for my future.”
Chidananda Sahu’s story begins in Orissa, where his passion for technology led him to pursue a B.Sc. in Computer Science. However, despite his academic background, Chidananda struggled to find a job that aligned with his aspirations due to a lack of practical hands-on skills. While exploring for solutions he came across Masai School on the recommendation of a friend, he soon realised that the traditional education system wasn’t equipping him with the real-world experience he needed.
At Masai, Chidananda thrived. The fast-paced curriculum, combined with team based projects and a focus on in demand technologies like HTML, JavaScript, and MongoDB, allowed him to develop the practical skills required for a successful tech career. Despite early setbacks during his placement journey, Chidananda’s perseverance paid off when he secured a position as a full-stack developer at Edgistify.
Looking ahead, Chidananda is eager to expand his knowledge, particularly in new and emerging technologies. He encourages others to consider Masai School as a launchpad for their tech careers, emphasizing that action and perseverance are key to success.
