Bhubaneswar – The government has taken various steps to bring transparency in the process of procurement of paddy from farmers in the state. Massive awareness drives are being created so that eligible farmers can sell their paddy at the government level. A vigilant watch has been kept on ensuring that paddy does not come from outside the state and is not sold in the state. This system has been tightened especially in the bordering districts of the state.
So far, 84 enforcement teams have been deployed in various districts, including 10 in Bargarh district and 21 in Sambalpur district. More squads will be deployed in the respective districts during paddy procurement in a phased manner. They will keep an eye on vehicles coming into our state with paddy from the border state. Vehicles going from mandi to mills and depots will also be under their strict watch . They have been empowered to take immediate action and seize the vehicle if there is any complaint of irregularity. Civil Supply officers of the respective districts will take appropriate steps for the same. The collectors of that district will decide on the officers deployed and their communication system.
Necessary steps have been taken to ensure that the token farmers come to the mandis and sell their paddy and come back with a better experience. The government has already issued orders to make necessary arrangements in various mandis.
