Bhubaneswar, 29th November 2024: Manipal Hospital Bhubaneswar successfully hosted a unique live endoscopy surgery workshop as part of VPCON 2024, organized in collaboration with IAGE (Indian Association of Gynecological Endoscopists) and AOGO (Association of Obstetricians and Gynecologists of Odisha).
The workshop was graced by eminent experts, including Prof. (Dr.) P.C. Mahapatra, Prof. (Dr.) Janmejay Mohapatra, Odisha Chapter Chairperson of IAGE, Prof. (Dr.) Bharti Mishra, Secretary (Odisha Chapter), Dr. Manoranjan Mohapatra, and Co-Chairperson Dr. Sujit Behera.
The organizing committee, comprising Dr. Manoranjan Mohapatra, Dr. Sujit Behera, Dr. Harpreet Kaur, Dr. Monica Gupta, Dr. Sibani Devi, and Dr. Bharat Bhushan, efficiently managed and coordinated all aspects of the workshop, including live surgeries and overall event supervision.
Dr. Harpreet Kaur, Senior Consultant in Obstetrics & Gynecological Surgery at Manipal Hospital Bhubaneswar, highlighted that nationally acclaimed surgeons from Odisha and across India performed live surgeries on complex cases involving fibroids and endometriosis. These surgeries were witnessed by delegates and participating doctors.
“We had keen and productive interactions with all the delegates and surgeons during the workshop,” said Dr. Kaur. “The active participation of numerous surgeons and doctors made the event engaging and insightful.”
The workshop aimed to demonstrate the latest trends and techniques in endoscopic surgeries, offering a valuable platform for both practicing surgeons and aspiring doctors. “The discussions and hands-on observations helped participants improve their surgical skills and gain better insights into managing complex cases. This will positively impact patient outcomes,” Dr. Kaur added.
