BJD Condemns BJP’s Misuse of Government Machinery and Violation of Model Code of Conduct in Nuapada District
Bhubaneswar, 08/11/2025: The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) strongly condemns the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for its blatant misuse of government machinery and flagrant violation of the Model Code of Conduct in connection with its road shows organized at Kharaiar Road NAC and Nuapada NAC. Dr. Lenin Mohanty, Media Coordinator and Spokesperson of the BJD, pointed out that a massive stage has been constructed on the Raipur National Highway, leading to a complete road blockade since last night. This has caused significant disruption to traffic and severe inconvenience to the public. Such actions are a direct violation of the Model Code of Conduct, which prohibits the use of public infrastructure and government resources for political purposes during the election period.
Dr. Mohanty further highlighted that the BJP has mobilized approximately 200 buses from the neighboring Bargarh district and 150 buses from Kalahandi district to transport supporters to the event. This is clear evidence of the BJP’s misuse of state resources for its political campaign. The use of district administration and local government machinery to facilitate such events is not only unethical but also undermines the fairness and integrity of the electoral process.
Dr. Lenin Mohanty called for immediate intervention by the Election Commission of India to stop these illegal practices and ensure strict enforcement of the Model Code of Conduct. He stressed the need for accountability of the district officials involved in these violations and reiterated that the people of Odisha deserve a free, fair, and transparent electoral process, free from the manipulation of government machinery.
