Dalmia Bharat Foundation Relaunches Mobile Medical Unit in Tangi to Improve Rural Healthcare Access

Bhubaneswar, January 13, 2026:Dalmia Bharat Foundation (DBF), in partnership with Wockhardt Foundation,has relaunched itsMobile Medical Unit (MMU) at Dalmia Cement – Kapilas Cement Manufacturing Works (KCW) plant in Tangi, Cuttack, to provide essential primary and preventive healthcare services to communities in the plant’s periphery.Operational since 2014, the MMU reached over 1800 patients monthly until 2024, making its reinstatement a strong community need.The MMU will be staffed with a qualified medical team comprising a doctor, nurse and pharmacist, offering basic diagnostics, consultations and treatment services. It will also facilitate referrals to larger health centresfor critical cases and conduct regular health awareness sessions, with a focus on seasonal illnesses and tuberculosis awareness. The initiative aims to directly address the lack of easy access to healthcare in remote and underserved areas surrounding the unit.

Present on the occasion were Sri Pankaj Gupta, Unit Head, KCW, Sri Sudhir Ranjan Mohanty, Head HR, KCW and Sri Gulzarilal Biswas, State Head from Wockhardt Foundation, along with DBF team, sarpanch and panchayat representatives, and plant officials

The relaunch of the MMU at Kapilas is part of Dalmia Bharat Foundation’s sustained efforts to strengthen community healthcare ecosystems across its operational locations.
