Bhubaneswar (Sanjiv Nayak) : In Sanatan Dharma, while the Vedas are regarded as supreme, the Upanishads stand as the crown jewel of Vedic wisdom. Highlighting their timeless relevance, Pujaniya Raseshwari Devi Ji, the foremost preacher of Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj, began a special discourse series titled “Upanishad Gyanamrit” with an exposition on “Upanishad Mahatmya”—the greatness and indispensability of the Upanishads.
In the opening discourse, Devi Ji highlighted the supreme position of the Upanishads, explaining how they encapsulate the essence of the four Vedas and serve as a comprehensive life manual for humanity. She emphasized that the Upanishads are not sectarian texts, but universal guides that offer clarity about the self, the world, and God, and show the right direction for living a meaningful life.

Introducing the central theme of the series, Devi Ji explained the declaration of the Svetasvatara Upanishad (1.12):
“etaj jñeyaṃ nityam evātmasaṃsthaṃ nātaḥ paraṃ veditavyaṃ hi kiṃcit.
bhoktā bhogyaṃ preritāraṃ ca matvā sarvaṃ proktaṃ trividhaṃ brahmam etat”
Reflecting on the deeper meaning of this mantra, she explained that we souls—the Bhogta Brahma—have been moving through the cycle of birth and death since time immemorial. Though the soul constantly seeks happiness, it continues to suffer due to material afflictions such as triguṇa, trikarma, pañca-kośa, and pañca-kleśa, and repeated efforts over countless lifetimes have failed to bring an end to this suffering.

She then highlighted the unique importance of the human body, explaining that only human birth offers the soul an opportunity to rise above the material world. While animals lack discernment and the devatās lack freedom of action, the human form alone provides both Gyan Shakti (viveka) and freedom of action—the two essential conditions for God-realization.
This Prabachan series will be conducted from 31st January to 9th February 2026, daily in the evening from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM.

The inaugural day was graced by the presence of the following distinguished guests like Shree Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, Deputy Chief Minister of Odisha, Shree Manmohan Samal, BJP State President – Odisha
