MALKANGIRI TPSODL JE AND HIS ASSOCIATE NABBED BY VIGILANCE FOR TAKING BRIBE RS.20,000/-

MALKANGIRI: Sri Pradesh Prasad Nayak, Jr. Engineer (JE), TPSODL, Malkangiri, Dist Malkangiri and Sri Bhanjakishor Swain (Private Person) have been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance for demanding and taking bribe Rs.20,000/- (Rupees Twenty Thousand) from a Bricks Factory Owner in lieu of providing electricity connection to his Bricks Factory. However, both Sri Nayak, JE and Sri Bhanjakishor Swain demanded bribe Rs.20,000/- from the Bricks Factory Owner and threatened him unless they were paid the demanded bribe, they would disconnect the electricity connection to his bricks factory.
Based on the above complaint, a trap was laid on 03.002.2026, wherein the accused Sri Pradesh Prasad Nayak, JE and Sri Bhanjakishor Swain (Private
Person) were nabbed by the team of Odisha Vigilance near main gate of the office for demanding and taking undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.20,000/- (Rupees Twenty Thousand) from the Bricks Factory Owner. The entire bribe money was recovered and seized from their possession in presence of witnesses. Following the trap, simultaneous searches have been launched on the rented residential house of Sri Nayak, JE at Malkangiri and his office room. Both the accused persons namely Sri Pradesh Prasad Nayak, JE, TPSODL, Malkangiri and Sri Bhanjakishor Swain (Private Person) have been arrested and will be forwarded to the Court.
In this connection, Koraput Vigilance PS Case No.01 dated 02.02.2026 U/s 7 Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered and is under investigation.
