Odisha Government Wins Technology Sabha Excellence Award for“AmaSathi Unified WhatsApp BOT”
Bhubaneswar, 02 March, 2026: The Odisha Government has been honoured with the prestigious Technology Sabha Excellence Award for its flagship digital governance initiative, AmaSathi Unified WhatsApp BOT, by Express Computer, a leading publication of the Indian Express Group. The award was presented on 27th February 2026 during the Technology Sabha held at Trident Hyderabad, recognizing excellence and innovation in the use of technology for public service delivery.
The award was received by Surendra Kumar Meena, IAS, Executive Director, Centre for Modernising Government Initiative (CMGI), under the General Administration Department, on behalf of the Government of Odisha.
The Technology Sabha Excellence Awards, instituted by Express Computer, are among the most respected recognitions in India’s technology and governance landscape. These awards celebrate outstanding initiatives by governments and institutions that demonstrate innovation, scalability, impact, and sustainability in leveraging digital technologies for citizen-centric outcomes. The awards are conferred after a rigorous evaluation process by an eminent jury comprising senior government leaders, industry experts, and technology professionals.
The AmaSathi Unified WhatsApp BOT has emerged as a transformative digital platform, enabling citizens to access multiple government services and information through a single, simple, and familiar interface on WhatsApp. By eliminating the need for multiple applications and physical visits to offices, the initiative has significantly enhanced ease of access, transparency, and responsiveness in public service delivery.
Speaking on the occasion, Sri Surendra Kumar Meena, IAS, said, “AmaSathi Unified WhatsApp BOT is a significant step towards ensuring governance at the doorstep of every citizen of Odisha. By leveraging a platform that citizens already use in their daily lives, we are making government services more accessible, inclusive, and responsive.
