Jharsuguda: International Women’s Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at the campus of DAV Public School, Jharsuguda through the initiative of the DAV Family. The programme was organised keeping in view the message of respect, equality and empowerment of women. On this occasion, Mrs. Sanchita Mukherjee, Principal of Blue Bells English Medium School, and Mrs. Seema Devata, the spouse of the DAV School, graced the programme as special guests and encouraged everyone with their kind presence.
An official meeting was also held under the chairmanship of the Principal of the school, Mr. Laxmi kanta Debta. While delivering the welcome address, Mr. Debta extended a warm welcome to all and expressed his views on the indispensable role of women in building society, the importance of equality in institutions, equal opportunities and the upliftment of women’s power. He also urged everyone to remain conscious about respect, equality and safety of women and administered a pledge to the teachers. On this occasion, various interesting and delightful cultural programmes were also organised.
Teachers presented songs, dances and other literary performances which beautifully highlighted the importance and strength of women. The programme filled everyone with joy and inspiration. Among those present were Neelima Patel, Dr. Manjushree Vedula, Manisha Chand, Sangeeta Sinha, Rinku Sharma, Sabita Dhal, Geetanjali Mishra, Sarita Mishra, Uma Singh Chandel, Monika Srivastava, Sukanya Mahapatra and other teachers. Paying tribute to the values of Women’s Day, the entire programme concluded successfully in a joyful and inspiring atmosphere.
