“No case on Sonam Wangchuk”

New Delhi : In a surprise move by Govt. of India after 169 days in jail, NSA detention was revoked for Sonam Wangchuk .
In reaction to this move by Govt. of India noted socio-political activist and Chairman of SNSMT Shri. Suparno Satpathy put out a X post reading –
“Glad to learn that good sense has prevailed on our current ‘positions of power’ and they decided to revoke the NSA detention of Dr @Wangchuk66

“The truth above shall wake a nether truth” #SriAurobindo”

Earlier, the union government had issued a press release stating “Government remains committed to fostering an environment of peace, stability, and mutual trust in Ladakh to facilitate constructive and meaningful dialogue with all stakeholders In furtherance of this objective, and after due consideration, the Government/MHA decides to revoke the detention of Sonam Wangchuk with immediate effect Government reiterates its commitment to providing all necessary safeguards for Ladakh The Government reiterates its commitment to providing all necessary safeguards for Ladakh. It remains hopeful that the issues concerning the region will be resolved through constructive engagement and dialogue, including through the mechanism of the High-Powered Committee as well as other appropriate platforms”

it is to be noted that Sonam Wangchuk’s wife Gitanjali had filed a case in the Supreme Court of India and the same had a hearing coming up on 17 March ‘26.
