Cuttack, March 27, 2026: Reinforcing its commitment to sustainable rural development and water stewardship, Dalmia Bharat Foundation (DBF), the CSR arm of Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Ltd, inaugurated the Bautijhar Pond at Kanpur village, Cuttack. The pond was formally inaugurated by Shri Debi Prasad Das, Unit Head, DCBL KCW, and Garudagaon Sarpanch, Sushree Diptimayee Behera, in the presence of Panchayat Samiti members and other esteemed village leaders.The Bautijhar Pond has a water storage capacity of approximately 900 cubic meters. This significant capacity is expected to play a vital role in addressing local water needs, supporting groundwater recharge, and enhancing overall water security in the village.
In addition, Dalmia Bharat Foundation is undertaking pond renovation initiatives across multiple villages, including Alakhara Pond in Kusupada Village (180 beneficiaries), BautiJhar Pond in Kanpur Village, Bhalukhai Pond in Amiyajhari Village, Dhanu Sahoo Thenga Pokhari in Kanheipur, Kainthi Gadia Pond in Byree Village and Nuakhai Pond in Amiyajhari Village Collectively, these six structures are creating a water storage capacity of around 5,400 cubic meters, benefitting overall around 1000 beneficiaries.
This significant capacity is expected to play a vital role in addressing local water needs, supporting groundwater recharge, and enhancing overall water security in the village.
