KIIT-DU Signs MoU with Indian Army to Support Education of Serving and Retired Army personnel and their Wards

Bhubaneswar : KIIT-DU today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Army to facilitate higher education opportunities for serving and retired personnel of the Indian Army, as well as their wards in both engineering and medical programmes.

The MoU was formalized between Brigadier Thakur Mayank Sinha, Brigadier Welfare, Army Headquarters, representing the Indian Army, and Prof. Saranjit Singh, Vice Chancellor, KIIT-DU, Bhubaneswar.

The MoU provides 50 % concessions in tuition fees for wards of serving and retired Indian Army personnel as well as their wards, for all courses (other than medical courses) and 10 % in medical courses. In addition, 100% scholarship in tuition fees shall be given to the Indian Army Personnel who attained Veergati irrespective of the schools, except Medical Science & Dental Science. 

The ward must fulfil NEET criteria for admission into the Medical and Dental science programme. For admission into all other programmes, the officers/ wards must fulfil KIIT Entrance Examination (KIITEE) criteria.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Jnyana Ranjan Mohanty, Registrar, welcomed the distinguished guests for the MoU signing ceremony. Prof. Saranjit Singh, Vice Chancellor of KIIT-DU, said, “The prime objective of this MoU is to ensure quality education and financial support for the wards of Indian Army personnel. Brigadier Thakur Mayank Sinha appreciated the infrastructure and the facilities being provided by KIIT and KISS and thanked Prof. (Dr.) Achutya Samanta, Founder, KIIT, KISS & KIMS for recognizing the role of the personnel of the Indian Army in Nation building and offering the said concessions. 

On the side-lines of the signing ceremony, Brigadier Thakur Mayank Singh also paid a courtesy visit on Prof. (Dr.) Achutya Samanta, Hon’ble Founder, KIIT, KISS & KIMS, and lauded his vision for inclusive education and nation-building process.
