Hindalco Hirakud Celebrates International Biodiversity Day 2026 with Mega Plantation Drive
Bhubaneswar/Hirakud : Hindalco Industries Limited Hirakud Power and Smelter celebrated International Biodiversity Day 2026 with great enthusiasm by organizing a Mega Plantation Drive under its “Go Green Initiative” The programme reflected the organization’s strong commitment towards environmental sustainability, biodiversity conservation, and promotion of green practices.
A large number of employees and officials actively participated in the plantation drive and pledged to contribute towards creating a greener and healthier environment. The event was graced by senior leadership including Mr. Sumit Mukherjee, Unit Head; Mr. Arun Kumar Singh, Plant Head – Power; Mr. Chandan Singh Rathore; Mr. Biswajit Tiwari, Engineering Head; Mr. Ranjan Kumar Jena, Environment Head; Mr. Jay Soni, Technical Cell Head – Smelter; Mr. Anand Chakraborty (CSR); Mr. Sukanta Mahapatra (CSR); Mr. Visnu Sasidaran, Head HR; Mr. Biswajit Parida; Adish Jain; Mrinmoy Khan, Mr. Adarshpal Singh, Mr. Dipti Sahoo, Ms. Priyanka Palaur from Environment Department; Tarun Sahu from Civil; Gopesh Sharma from Operations, along with employees from CSR, Ash Management, Procurement, Accounts, Operations, and various other departments. During the programme, the dignitaries emphasized the importance of biodiversity conservation and encouraged employees to adopt sustainable practices in their daily lives.
