Paradeep, July 01, 2026: AM/NS Ports extended its support to the Government of India’s Pulse Polio Campaign, ensuring that life saving vaccines reached every corner of Paradeep thereby reaffirming its dedication to public health. Conducted during June 28–30, 2026, the initiative was organised in collaboration with Biju Memorial Hospital, with AM/NS Ports facilitating awareness sessions, vaccine carriers to immunization booths and closely monitoring the program.
Over the period of the campaign, a total of 6,551 children under the age of five received oral polio drops across 19 high risk locations. The drive covered hospitals, industrial zones, fishermen colonies, slum clusters, Anganwadi centres, and busy transit points including bus terminals and railway stations. The immunization followed a structured three days plan which included booths on the first day, door to door visits on the second, and a final day supervision to ensure every family was reached.
Auxiliary Nurse Midwives (ANM), Anganwadi workers, ASHA volunteers, social organisations along with CSR team of AM/NS Ports, worked tirelessly across Paradeep’s slum areas such as Bijayachandpur, Sandhakuda, Nehru Bangla, Atharabanki, Paradeep Sea Beach, and the market area. Adding to the effort, AM/NS Ports organised a sensitization program at Lockpada Transit Point under the company’s conveyor belt line area. The program was graced by Smt. Chabilata Rout, Vice Chairperson, Paradeep Municipality along with AM/NS India officials and community members. The program created awareness among residents living adjacent to the belt line, further strengthening the campaign’s reach.
The overall campaign was jointly monitored by Dr. Basanta Kumar Barik, Additional District Medical Officer (ADMO), Jagatsinghpur, and Dr. Asif Iqbal, Ayush Doctor, Community Health Centre (CHC), Paradeep, alongside hospital staff and volunteers. Their collective effort ensured that Paradeep’s children received the protective shield of polio vaccination.
