Rotary Club of Bhubaneswar inaugurates Free Eco Ambulance Service for Rural Outreach Healthcare

Bhubaneswar : In a significant step towards strengthening emergency healthcare services in rural and outreach areas, the Rotary Club of Bhubaneswar, under Rotary District 3262, inaugurated a Free Eco Ambulance Service on June 29, 2026.

The Eco Ambulance was inaugurated by District Governor Rtn. Manoj K. Tripathy in the presence of Past District Governor Rtn. Jayashree Mohanty. The project has been sponsored under the MPLAD Recommendation of Hon’ble Shri Amar Patnaik, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), MPLAD/2023-24/26 dated 13 September 2023, with the objective of improving healthcare accessibility for underserved communities.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed among the Rotary Club of Bhubaneswar, Sunflower Nursing Home, Kalpana Square, Bhubaneswar, and Mr. Debasish Satpathy, who will operate the Eco Ambulance service. Under this collaboration, Sunflower Nursing Home will provide medical support to ensure prompt and efficient emergency healthcare services.

Speaking on the occasion, Rtn. Sanjaya Chaudhury, President of the Rotary Club of Bhubaneswar, said:

“The Free Eco Ambulance Service is a humanitarian initiative dedicated to reaching those who need emergency medical assistance the most. Every life is precious, and timely transportation can make the difference between life and death. This project reflects Rotary’s commitment to ‘Service Above Self’ and our resolve to make quality healthcare accessible to people living in rural and outreach areas. We sincerely thank Hon’ble Shri Amar Patnaik for his generous MPLAD support, District Governor Rtn. Manoj K. Tripathy and Past District Governor Rtn. Jayashree Mohanty for their encouragement, and our partners, Sunflower Nursing Home and Mr. Debasish Satpathy, for joining hands in this noble mission.”

The Eco Ambulance will provide round-the-clock emergency transportation services, ensuring that patients from rural and underserved regions have access to timely medical care. The initiative is expected to benefit thousands of people by reducing delays in reaching healthcare facilities during emergencies.
