AM/NS Ports distributes nutrition food baskets to 123 TB patients in Paradeep

Paradeep, July 18, 2026: AM/NS Ports, in partnership with the District TB Council, Jagatsinghpur, has distributed 344 nutrition food baskets to 123 TB patients in Kujanga Block and Paradeep Municipality under the Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan. This multi-sectoral initiative highlights the vital role of nutritional support in strengthening the fight against TB, addressing one of the most critical social determinants of health for individuals battling the disease.
Specially prepared food baskets containing milk powder, pulses, vegetable cooking oil, cereals, and millets were provided as part of this basket. These essential items are carefully selected to strengthen immunity and help the patients recover faster. AM/NS Ports has been extending its support to vulnerable patients since 2023 and has impacted over 3000 lives by ensuring the patients receive essential care and timely assistance.
The distribution programme was held at the conference hall of Biju Memorial Hospital, Paradeep, in the presence of several dignitaries. Among those present were Dr. Rasmi Ranjan Pattnaik, Additional District Public Health Officer (TB), Jagatsinghpur, Shri Bipin Bihari Patra, District Programme Coordinator, National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme, Shri Md. Waquar Ali, District Public Private Mix Coordinator, Dr. Basanta Kumar Rout, Superintendent, Community Health Centre, Paradeep, Shri Saiyed Aminul Islam, Senior Treatment Coordinator, Community Health Centre, Kujang, Shri Sumitra Kumar Swain, Tuberculosis Health Visitor, Community Health Centre, Paradeep and Ms. Banita Barman, Tuberculosis Champion, Paradeep. Senior officials from AM/NS Ports were also present, including Shri Laxmikanta Sahoo, Head–Mechanical, Shri Praveen Ray, Head–Electrical and Shri Smruti Ranjan Samantaray, Head–Logistics.
Dr. Rasmi Ranjan Pattnaik praised AM/NS Ports for being the first company to extend support to TB patients of Kujanga block and Paradeep. He highlighted that such compassionate initiatives not only aid in early recovery but also inspire patients to come forward without fear or hesitation. Dr. Pattnaik urged TB patients to openly seek treatment and not conceal their condition, stressing that transparency and timely medical care are vital for complete recovery.
Through this initiative, AM/NS Ports is contributing to holistic patient care and reinforcing community health resilience.
