Congress and LoP Rahul Gandhi using students as “political tools” to disrupt the Parliament over the NEET issue : Dharmendra

New Delhi: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Monday accused the Congress and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi of using students as “political tools” to disrupt the ongoing Monsoon Session of Parliament over the NEET issue.
In a statement, Pradhan alleged that Rahul Gandhi and the Congress staged a protest outside the Prime Minister’s residence despite the government’s willingness to hold a comprehensive discussion on NEET in Parliament. He claimed that the demonstration caused inconvenience to the public and ignored established security protocols.
The Union Minister further alleged that the Congress had chosen “political spectacle over democratic debate,” asserting that the party’s objective was to create disruption and gain political headlines rather than seek solutions for students.
Pradhan said the government had repeatedly expressed its readiness to discuss NEET and address the concerns of students on the floor of the House. He accused Rahul Gandhi of attempting to manufacture confrontation despite avenues for parliamentary discussion being available.
Reiterating the Centre’s stand, Pradhan said the government remains fully committed to discussing NEET and implementing reforms to address the genuine concerns of students. He added that students deserve certainty, accountability and meaningful solutions, rather than being used as instruments in political campaigns.
The remarks came amid the continuing political confrontation between the government and the Opposition over the NEET issue during the Monsoon Session of Parliament.
