UAIL Observes 80th Independence Day with Patriotic Spirit

Kashipur : Utkal Alumina International Limited (UAIL), a subsidiary of under Aditya Birla Group, observed the 80th Independence Day with patriotic zeal at its Doraguda plant in Tikiri, Rayagada district.

The celebration was held at the Helipad Ground of Nuapada Township, where Unit Head Mr. Rabi Narayan Mishra unfurled the National Flag, followed by the National Anthem. He inspected the parade and received the ceremonial salute from the combined parade contingent including UAILs security personnel, employees and NCC cadets.

Students from the local community and Aditya Birla Public School presented a series of patriotic cultural programmes on the occasion.

Addressing the gathering, Unit Head Rabi Narayan Mishra paid tribute to the brave soldiers and great leaders whose sacrifices secured the country’s independence. He also commended the dedication and commitment of security personnel serving the nation.

He emphasised the important role of industries in the country’s economic development, noting that since Independence, industrialisation has contributed significantly to employment generation and national prosperity. He said that industrial institutions have continued to evolve with advancements in science and technology. In this context, UAIL, through its Abhyudaya Project, has been able to position itself as an industry equipped to meet the needs of the future.

Highlighting the company’s social commitment, Mishra said UAIL continues to undertake various community welfare initiatives in its peripheral villages under its CSR programmes. He stressed that the social development of surrounding communities is essential for an industry to earn and sustain its social acceptance.

He further stated that Hindalco Industries has recently taken several initiatives towards green energy and sustainability, including manufacturing various components for electric vehicles and undertaking measures aimed at promoting sustainable development.

Following the address, the parade contingents of SSTF, SIS, SLV and NCC were felicitated. The best-performing parade contingent was also awarded by senior officials of the UAIL.

Senior company officials and employees, including Mr. Uttam Giri, Mr. Narayan Mitra, Mr. Viswajit Jowardar, Mr. Gurudatta Rath, Mr. Devi Prasad Sahoo, Mr. Paul Gupta and Mr. Kiran Nayak, along with other members of the leadership team, employees and their family members, were present at the celebration.

On the otherhand, the 80th Independence Day was observed at the Baphlimali Mines. Mines Head Vijay Chauhan attended the programme and unfurled the National Flag.
