DR. BANAMBAR RAY PRESENTED ‘HONOURING OUR GURU’ AWARD FOR LIFELONG CONTRIBUTION TO CRITICAL CARE MEDICINE

Bhubaneswar, Aug. 18: Dr. Banambar Ray, distinguished Critical Care Medicine specialist, has been honoured with the prestigious ‘Honouring Our Guru’ award for his lifelong contribution to the field of Critical Care Medicine spanning 50 years.

The award was presented to Dr. Ray, presently working as Senior Consultant, Critical Care Medicine at SUM Ultimate Medicare here, at the 3rd International Critical Care Nephrology Association (CCNA) Conference held at Pune on August 8 in recognition of his remarkable dedication and commitment towards critical care over five decades.

Expressing his gratitude, Dr. Ray said he felt deeply honoured to receive the recognition from an organisation with which he had no direct association. He said the award was particularly humbling as it acknowledged his lifelong dedication to saving lives and caring for sick patients in Intensive Care Units.

He dedicated the honour to the countless doctors, nurses, paramedics and healthcare organisations who supported and encouraged him throughout his five decade long service.
“In this award, I see countless doctors, nurses, paramedics and healthcare delivery organisations who stood by me and encouraged me to pursue my goal of caring for patients,” he said.

Dr. Ray also acknowledged the significant support he received from SUM Ultimate Medicare and Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan Deemed to be University (SOA) saying the continued encouragement and institutional support had enabled him to pursue his mission of providing the best possible care to critically ill patients.

“SUM Ultimate Medicare and SOA Deemed to be University have given me all the support I needed to give my best to this mission. Therefore, I see their imprint in this award as well,” he added.
