  • Cooperation Minister’s Statement Extremely Unfortunate
  • If the Problem Is Not Resolved, BJD Will Take to the Streets.

Bhubaneswar, 6/9/2026:The people of Odisha are being repeatedly neglected under the BJP government. While the Central Government has once again neglected Odisha, the FCI is not lifting rice from Odisha. As a result, rice is lying at mandis across the state, creating a possibility of disruption in the procurement of Kharif paddy.

On this issue, BJD State Vice-President and former Minister Shri Sanjay Das Burma has expressed his reaction through a press statement. Regarding the issue of FCI not lifting rice from Odisha, the statement made by the Cooperation Minister is extremely unfortunate. Earlier, the Food and Supplies Minister, in his statement, had expressed his helplessness by saying that the Central Government was not listening to Odisha’s concerns. Now, through his statement, the Cooperation Minister has expressed a sense of frustration.

Shri Das Burma said that instead of taking responsibility as a Minister of Odisha under the double-engine government and fighting to secure the state’s rightful dues, the Minister has expressed his helplessness before the Central Government.

He further said that making such a statement by the Minister is a grave insult to the 4.5 crore people of Odisha as well as the farming community. The BJP government, which invoked the cause of Odia Asmita during the 2024 elections, has now surrendered itself before the Central Government. He questioned the BJP government, asking whether this was the reason the people of Odisha had voted for them.

What are the 20 BJP MPs elected from Odisha doing in Delhi? Why are they sitting silent instead of fighting for the rights of the state? He questioned.

He said that if the problems of the farming community are not resolved in the coming days, the BJD will take to the streets and fight for the rights of the farmers
