Grand Celebration of Hindi Fortnight at the School

Jharsuguda, 15 September 2026: DAV Public School, Jharsuguda, organised a grand Hindi Fortnight with the objective of fostering interest, awareness and a sense of respect for the Hindi language among students. As part of the fortnight-long celebration, a variety of literary and cultural programmes were organised on the school premises, including Doha recitation, poetry recitation, enactment of the lives and works of eminent Hindi litterateurs, street plays and stage performances.
Students participated enthusiastically in the various programmes and showcased their talent, creativity and expressive skills in an impressive manner. Through their diverse presentations, they effectively highlighted the rich literary tradition and cultural heritage of the Hindi language, as well as its significance in contemporary life. The enactments based on the lives and works of renowned litterateurs were a special attraction of the programme. On the occasion, emphasis was laid on the need for the preservation, promotion and wider propagation of the Hindi language. The Principal of the school, L.K. Debta, encouraged the students to maintain a sense of pride and respect for Hindi and to make its maximum use in their daily lives. He stated that a language is not merely a means of communication but also a reflection of our culture, traditions and national identity. The successful organisation of the Hindi Fortnight was made possible through the dedicated efforts of the Hindi Department teachers Namita Pandey, Hemlata Jaiswal, Goutami Sharma, Jayanti Patel and Lily Lenka. Under their guidance, the students participated enthusiastically in the various activities. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks. The celebration of Hindi Fortnight provided a meaningful opportunity to strengthen students’ love, respect and awareness of the Hindi language while nurturing their literary and cultural talents.
