Bhubaneswar, Sep. 17: Students who completed their studies at the Institute of Dental Sciences (IDS), faculty of dental sciences of SOA Deemed to be University here, were presented their degrees at a graduation ceremony organised on Thursday.
Students, who belonged to the 2020-25 batch of Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) course and 2022-25 batch of Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) course, received their degrees at the program which was graced by the SOA Vice-Chancellor Prof. Pradipta Kumar Nanda.
Prof. Nanda, who also administered the oath to the graduating students, said they had been rewarded for their hard labour, patience, punctuality, discipline, struggle and commitment to the cause they pursued.
Addressing them as SOA’s brand ambassadors, Prof. Nanda told the students that while SOA was ranked 15th in the country by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) in 2025, IDS had been picked by NIRF as the 9th best institute of dental sciences in the country.
Prof. (Dr.) Neeta Mohanty and Prof. (Dr.) Prasenjit Mohanty, both Pro-Vice Chancellors of SOA, Prof. Manjula Das, Controller of Examination, Prof. Jyoti Ranjan Das, Dean (Students’ Welfare), departmental heads and faculty members were present.
Prof. (Dr.) Ruchi Bhuyan, Dean of IDS, who presented the annual report, also exhorted the graduating students to help raise the standard of treatment by utilizing Artificial Intelligence. Prof. (Dr.) Abhijita Mohapatra, presented the welcome address.
