Bhubaneswar, Sep. 25: The deep depression which had entered Odisha on Wednesday has weakened into a depression and was centered over Nuapada district on Friday, the Centre for Environment and Climate (CEC) of SOA Deemed to be University said.
The system was likely to move in a north-northwesterly direction towards east Uttar Pradesh, it said.
Under its influence, heavy to very heavy rainfall may occur in the districts of Anugol, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Debagada, Mayurbhanj, Baleswar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Sonepur and Boudh districts on Friday.
Moderate rainfall was expected in rest of Odisha during the day. The weather will improve from Saturday with chances of light to moderate rainfall at a few places over north Odisha districts, the CEC said.
