Kokrajhar: Bringing everyday situations to life through street theatre, NTPC Bongaigaon organised awareness performances by “MUKHA”, a professional theatre group from Barpeta, to promote integrity and cleanliness at NTPC Salakati Township and Salakati Market.

As part of the Three-Month Vigilance Awareness Programme 2026, a Nukkad Natak on the theme “Probity for Prosperity” was staged at NTPC Salakati Township on 29 September 2026. Attended by more than 150 workers, the performance highlighted the importance of honesty, transparency, accountability and ethical conduct in personal and professional life.

Through relatable characters and engaging dialogue, the artistes depicted the adverse effects of corrupt practices and the role of individual choices in building an ethical workplace and society. The workers responded enthusiastically and appreciated the use of theatre to communicate the message of vigilance in an accessible manner.

The troupe also performed at Salakati Market as part of Swachhata Hi Seva, presenting a street play focused on cleanliness and social awareness. The performance encouraged people to keep their surroundings clean and recognise their shared responsibility towards hygiene and the upkeep of public spaces.

Together, the performances connected two messages essential to community well-being: integrity in everyday conduct and responsibility towards cleaner surroundings. By taking these messages to workers and the wider community, NTPC Bongaigaon encouraged public participation in building a more aware, responsible and ethical society.
