Delivery of public services pertaining to Revenue & DM Department through “Rajaswa Ratha”


Bhubaneswar(Kalinga Voice) : Delivery of public services to citizens in a time-bound and hassle-free manner is of paramount importance for Government. To achieve this objective, Revenue and Disaster Management Department has undertaken many citizen-centric initiatives under the 5T Action Plan.
The mutation and certificate services, delivered in Tahasil offices have been made completely online to reduce the physical interface of public with the Government offices. But people having no internet facility at home or lacking digital literacy are visiting the Revenue Offices or Mo Seva Kendras for assistance.
Due to the unprecedented surge in COVID-19 cases in the state and as per the COVID management guidelines issued by the Government of Odisha for the safety of public and employees, public access to revenue offices has been curtailed. For uninterrupted delivery of revenue services to citizens during COVID-19 Pandemic, Tahasil office, Ganjam has started an innovative way of delivery of services through “Rajaswa Ratha”.

Considering it as a best practice of Good Governance and as per kind orders of Hon’ble Chief Minister, Shri Bishnupada Sethi, Principal Secretary, Revenue & Disaster Management Department issued advisory to all Collectors vide Letter No. 14915 dated 11.05.2021 to emulate the best practice of delivery of services through “Rajaswa Ratha” in their districts during the period of COVID-19 Pandemic.
Delivery of public services through “Rajaswa Ratha” has been successfully started in many districts. It has started in Lakhanpur Tahasil of Jharsuguda district, where the survey & settlement work of homestead land of oustees of Hirakud dam in Barangamal village was taken up. In Sundargarh district, Rajaswa Ratha rolled in Biramitrapur & Lathikata Tahasil. In the former Tahasil, Pattas under Forest Right’s Act delivered to eleven beneficiaries. Pattas were also distributed in Kendrapada Tahasil of Kendrapada district & Gondia Tahasil of Dhenkanal district through Rajaswa Ratha. This innovative way of service delivery was applauded by public during the lockdown period of COVID-19 pandemic.
