LOK SABHA SPEAKER CALLS FOR A MASS CAMPAIGN FOR PROTECTION OF ENVIRONMENT

New Delhi,(Kalinga Voice) : Lok Sabha Speaker Shri Om Birla planted a fruit tree in Bharat-ASEAN Maitri Park, Tughlak Road, New Delhi Today. Union Minister Shri Arjun Munda and Gen. V.K. Singh, Judges of the Supreme Court, Members of Parliament, Secretary-General, Lok Sabha and other eminent personalities also planted trees on this occasion.

Emphasizing India’s contributions to obviate the adverse impacts of climate change, Shri Birla said that India is leading the world to fight against climate change and to provide a sustainable climate to humanity. Indians are connected to nature since time immemorial and their reverence towards nature is the foundation of our commitment to the protection of the environment.

On this occasion, Shri Birla said that as India is celebrating the 75th year of her Independence, this should be the occasion to make environmental protection a people’s movement. Shri Birla appealed to the people to begin a mass campaign for the plantation of fruit trees.
