Bhubaneswar(Kalinga Voice) : Corona terror is on the rise in the state. For the third day in a row, the corona is above 400 today with identification of 469 new positive cases. Out of those, 317 were identified from quarantine, while alarmingly 152 were identified from the public. As a result, the total number of positives has risen to 9070, while the number of recovered has reached 5934. The number of active cases, including today’s new entries, has risen to 3090.
Two tweets from the health department speak about the sad demise of three Corona affected. As the tweet says, the demise of a 45-year old COVID positive female of Balasore district due to Massive Hemorrhagic Exudative Pleural Effusion. The demise of a 40-year old COVID positive Male of Gajapati district and a 64-year old COVID positive Male of Sundargarh district, who was also suffering from Diabetes.
The new cases today are spread over 20 districts of Odisha, with 116 detections in corona hotspot Ganjam. It was followed by Cuttack 94, Sundergarh 66, Khordha 27, Keonjhar and Jajpur 25 each, Nayagarh 24, Bhadrak 16, Sambalpur 13, Gajapati 12, Angul 11, Puri and Balasore 8 each, Mayurbhanj 6, Kendrapada 5, Bolangir 3, Nawarangapur, and Kalahandi 2 each and Kandhamal & Malkangiri1 each. Four NDRF personnel Returned from Amphan duty are also detected positive, says a tweet from the I & PR Department, Odisha.
