Keonjhar/Rourkela / Balasore (Kalinga Voice) : The Vigilance sleuths intercepted one Superintending Engineer of water resource department and 2 Regional Officers of the State Pollution Control Board on their way in three different incidents today . Vigilance seized more than 12 lakhs cash from them .
Today i.e. on 9.10.2021, Shri Bidhan Chandra Sahu, SE, Baitarni Irrigation Division, Salapada, Dist-Keonjhar was intercepted by Odisha Vigilance near Panikoili while proceeding to Cuttack carrying huge cash of Rs 10 lakh 5 thousand approx (suspected to be ill gotten money) which he couldn’t account for satisfactorily. The amount has been recovered from his possession. He is being examined further in this case. House searches launched at his office and residence (in Cuttack).
In one more operation today, Dr P K Mohapatra, Regional Officer Odisha State Pollution Control Board, Rourkela was intercepted by Odisha Vigilance in Bhubaneswar while returning from Rourkela Rs 175000 (suspected ill gotten cash) approx recovered from his possession which he couldn’t account for satisfactorily. House searches going on at his house in Sundarpada, Bhubaneswar.
In another operation today, Sri Narottam Behera, Regional Officer, Pollution Control Board, Balasore was intercepted at Tangi Chakk Gate by Odisha Vigilance while proceeding to Bhubaneswar and Rs 89,000/- (suspected ill gotten cash) recovered from his possession, which he couldn’t account for satisfactorily. House search being carried out.
