Bhubaneswar /Baripada(Kalinga Voice) : Assistant Engineer, Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA), Baripada, Dist.- Mayurbhanj Sri Santosh Kumar Das was arrested today by Odisha Vigilance and is being forwarded to the Court of Spl. Judge Vigilance, Bhubaneswar for possession of disproportionate assets worth Rs.2,80,56,864/-, which he could not account for satisfactorily.
In this connection, Cuttack Vigilance Cell P.S. Case No.8 dt.26.11.2021 has been registered against Sri Santosh Kumar Das, Assistant Engineer and his spouse U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(b)/12 Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act-2018.
On the allegation of possession of assets disproportionate to the known sources of income by Sri Santosh Kumar Das, Assistant Engineer, Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA), Baripada, Dist-Mayurbhanj, simultaneous house searches were conducted at 11 places on 25.11.2021 and 26.11.2021 by 11 teams of Odisha Vigilance led by 10 DSsP, 4 Inspectors and 30 other staff on the strength of Search Warrants issued by the Hon’ble Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhubaneswar.
After thorough search, inventory and further enquiry, the income, expenditure and assets of Sri Santosh Kumar Das, Assistant Engineer were calculated and he was found in possession of assets disproportionate to the known sources of income to the tune of Rs.2,80,56,864/- (Rupees Two Crore Eighty Lakh Fifty-six Thousand Eight Hundred Sixty-four) which constituted 245% of his known sources of income.
