OASME inaugurates International Conference on Growth and Optimism in MSME Business: A Global Context (GOMSMEB-2024)

Bhubaneswar, 19th December 2024: The Odisha Assembly of Small and Medium Enterprises (OASME), in collaboration with the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) and the National Institute for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (ni-msme), successfully commenced the International Conference on Growth and Optimism in MSME Business: A Global Context (GOMSMEB-2024) today in Bhubaneswar.

The opening day witnessed a stellar lineup of dignitaries and experts from India and abroad. Key attendees included Dr. Budi Suprapto, Associate Professor, UniversitasAtma Jaya Yogyakarta, Indonesia, Ms. Yujin Han, CEO of Starajin and Member of the Korea Importers Association (KOIMA), South Korea, Shri P.K. Gupta, IEDS, Jt. Director & HOO, MSME DFO, Cuttack, Smt. JyotirmayeeMohanty, Chairwoman, OASME Women Wing, Dr. Shreekant Sharma, Director, SEE, ni-msme, Mr. Pramod Kumar Vijayvargia, General Manager, SIDBI, Kolkata Regional Office, and many more.The event was seamlessly coordinated under the leadership of Mr. Satwik Swain, Secretary General (Hony.), OASME.

Dr. Budi Suprapto highlighted Indonesia’s success in creating a robust MSME ecosystem. He remarked, “India and Indonesia share similar challenges and opportunities in the MSME sector. Collaboration and exchange of best practices will be mutually beneficial.”

Ms. Yujin Han underscored Korea’s advancements in MSME development and their relevance for India. “The synergy between Indian and Korean MSMEs can open doors to innovation and global competitiveness,” she said.

Smt. JyotirmayeeMohanty spoke about empowering women entrepreneurs in MSMEs. She said, “Women have empowered themselves across various fields today. This program aims to empower the women of our state in the same manner, just as we hope for women in Indonesia and Korea to achieve similar empowerment.”

Dr.Shreekant Sharma discussed ni-msme’s role in capacity building for MSMEs, stating, “We are organizing this international conference in collaboration with OASME, featuring esteemed MSME experts. The Programme focuses on exploring various ideas to elevate the development of Odisha and enhance the global competitiveness of contestants from different countries.”

The first day concluded on an optimistic note, with actionable insights and global perspectives that aim to shape the future of MSMEs in Odisha and beyond.
