SITARAM RUNGTA BOYS’ HOSTEL AT ITI BARBIL SERVES POOR TRIBAL STUDENTS SINCE 2011

Bhubaneswar: ITI, Barbil since its inception is enhancing and improving skill set and knowledge of students living in and around Keonjhar district, boosting their performance and consequently helping them to meet their career objectives.

Keeping in view of the growing needs of ITI, Barbil in the current scenario, and to reinforce commitment towards its Corporate Social Responsibility, India’s leading player in steel manufacturing and mining, Rungta Mines Limited (RML) extended its helping hands by undertaking the construction of a 100 bedded Boys’ hostel building in the campus of ITI Barbil.

The facility consists of a 3 storied hostel building on RCC frame structure over a built up area of 4300 sqft. having 12 nos. of rooms which accommodates 100 students, 6 nos. bath/toilet units, drinking water facility through bore well, 4000 liters capacity overhead storage tank and pipe line, electrification and beautification of campus with plantation. The companyhas also supplied 100 nos. steel beds for students. The project was handed over to ITI, Barbil for its optimum utilization in the year 2010-11.

Further, the Company has also constructed main gate of ITI Barbil, laying of paver blocks over an area of 7000 sqft. and heightening of  2300 ft. long  boundary wall with a  project cost of Rs. 16 Lac in the year 2015-16.   

These initiatives surely support the endeavor of skill development as it plays a crucial role in impelling skill development by skilling the trainers & students in poor & under developed district like Keonjhar.This investment creates a win-win situation by developing a vibrant and skilled manpower market and thereby improving district youths’ employability.
