Kashipur/Kalinga Voice) : As a part of its relentless pursuit towards health and wellbeing of this region, the Utkal Alumina International limited, a subsidiary of Hindalco Industries limited of Aditya Birla Group has organized a Free Eye Screening Camp at Paikakupakhal Village on 07th March 2022 in association with Dist. Blindness Control Society, Rayagada. The eye camp was organized to provide an opportunity to the mining peripheral villagers to screen their eye at their doorstep and get it’s treated as per their need.
The screening camp was organized for the mining peripheral villages to provide them with services like eye screening,provision of power glasses, medicines and referral for cataract surgery.
Mr. Tapan Mahali, IIC Andirakanch Police Station graced the inaugural event as Chief Guest. Dr. Lopamudra Priyadarshini, GM, CSR, CR & Sustainability, Dr. M Suresh Kumar, Senior Eye Specialist, District Head Quarter Hospital, Rayagada, Mr. SaratSabar, Tahasildar Kashipur, Mr. Giridhar Sahu, RI Maikanch, Mr. Rasananda Sethi, Ophthalmic Assistant, District Head Quarter Hospital, Rayagada, Mr. AshotoshSahu, Sub-inspector Andirakanch Police Station have graced the inaugural session as distinguished guest along with other senior officials of UAIL along with the CSR, Admin & CR and Sustainability team.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Tapan Mahali applauded the noble efforts of UTKAL Alumina towards the health and well being of the surrounding villagers and encourage the villagers to come forward and avail the benefits of free eye screening camp.
Dr. M Suresh Kumar, Senior Eye Specialist DHH Rayagada acknowledged the arduous effort of Utkal Alumina for organizing the eye screening camp and assured to extend all necessary support from the district head quarter hospital for noble initiative.
Eye gives us vision and power to see the beautiful world. Its the most important gift from God to us. Dr. Lopamudra Priyadarshini narrates while assuring the villagers that Utkal Alumina is always committed towards the health and well being of the society. She encouraged the villagers to take the complete benefit from the camp and assured to conduct such camps in future. The event was coordinated by the team CSR of Utkal Alumina.
