In order to maintain a safe working environment, the company always relentlessly putting it’s best effort to educate it’s people and community on safe behaviour practices.
According to a survey, more than nine out of ten deaths and 80% of medical injuries occurs outside the plant premises and out of job hours. So to control off the job related hazards, an off the job safety taskforce has been constituted.
Under the able guidance of unit head & President Mr. Mazhar Beig, Mrs Heena Beig (President off the job safety task force ), Dr Lopamudra Priyadarshini ( chairperson off the job safety task force ), Mr Jai Tiwari ( head safety ) members of the task force have been taking various initiatives to promote safe behaviour.
Different kinds of Off the job safety-related training programmes are being undertaken along with, off the job safety audit of townships, and awareness sessions in the periphery from time to time. In co-ordination with M/s Bharat Gas two batches of awareness session was carried out “ON LPG CYLINDER SAFE USE” at Nuapada & Oshapada township respectively on Date 06.09 & 07.09.22. In addition to it all the 510 number quarters are audited for LPG Gas cylinders, pressure regulator, rubber tube, Hot plates and customer education given by the technical team of M/s Bharat Gas . This programme will certainly control the hazard due to gas cylinder and safe environment could be built up. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Mazhar Beig narrated that Utkal Alumina never compromises on adhering to safety norms and culture and always committed towards a safe environment.
